Volunteer Your Time - Make the CIR Better

The Central Indiana Region of the Porsche Club of America, your club, needs volunteers to continue to maintain and improve our club related activities and events. You joined this club because of your love of Porsches. Share that feeling by volunteering a small amount of your time. None of these positions require any special skills except enthusiasm.
Every event or activity needs volunteers with different requirements. The time commitments and involvement vary greatly based on the event. The Street Survival event requires a few hours with skills that vary from the ability to move some small street cones, to taking names at sign in to holding a four inch fire department hose, to preventing cars from moving until it is their turn. This is usually a once a year event.
Other events, like the Adopt-A-Highway actually require just one skill: the ability to put trash in a bag. This event is twice a year and last about four hours.
Other events, like Saturdays breakfasts, simply require you to show up.
We also have positions that allow for a larger commitment. The CIR board of directors provides the continuity and guidance to maintain the viability of the club. It also approves events and their funding.
There are currently two board positions open. These positions are the Secretary and Activities Chairman.
If you’d like to get your feet wet rather rather jumping in head first, you can volunteer to be a member of any of a number of subcommittees. This way you can contribute but not have to lead. Click here to see a list of the various CIR committees. This way you can still be more involved with your club but someone else will be handling all the organizing details.
Secretary
The Secretary shall attend all meetings of the members and the Board of Directors and shall keep full and complete minutes of the proceedings and of all votes cast thereat. This position basically requires accurate notes be kept of the monthly meeting and emailed to the other board members prior to the next meeting.
Activities Chairperson
The Activities Chairman shall be responsible for organizing CIR competitive, technical, and social events. He may appoint committee members to aid in completing the arrangements for the various events. This position can be very creative. Most weekends already have an event scheduled. The Activities Chairperson coordinates these events or creates new events to encourage members to attend.
If you would like to volunteer your time contact Bob Snider. If you would like to attend an event, simply find one of the many events (click on the Calendar menu item) and click on the event's “Enroll me” link.

Welcome to the Central Indiana Region Porsche Club Web Site

Thanks for visiting the new CIR site. We hope you enjoy the new look. This site is much more flexible than the previous site and saves the club money. Please bear with us as we become familiar with the features our new environment has and some of the challenges it presents.
While here, please take at the club event calendar. There is an activity on nearly every weekend of the year. On the calendar, you are able to look at future and past events to see if there are any events of interest to you specifically. There are social events, driver education events, tech session events, tours and many others. New activities are constantly being added and updated, so please check back often.
If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions about club activities or this site, please go to the "Contact Us" menu item and let us know.
This club is made entirely of unpaid volunteers driven by their shared loved for our marque. If you would like to volunteer some of your valuable time, please use the "Contact Us" page. Alternatively, just show up at an event and talk to any of the other club members about volunteering. Your time is very needed and much appreciated.

Please Register at the new Club Web Site

One of the unfortunate side effects of the migration to this new site is that we were NOT able import the existing member file from the previous site.
Please take a minute and register at this site. The non-personal information is only used to allow you to enroll for calendar events. Enrollment count information is used to obtain a head count for event planning only. You cannot enroll at an event without registering first.
Once of the unfortunate side effects of the new system, is that one attendee cannot register for anyone else. Therefore, each person attending an event must register individually. The very next upgrade of the host system apparently corrects this. National has told us they are upgrading two versions of the host system this year, which will make us current and correct a number of problems similar to this one.
Please click here to register.
If you have any problems registering, please click here to contact the site web master and get a response within a few hours.

This is your site and we welcome your comments, suggestions and participation. New events are being added frequently, please check the "Calendar" often.
